Sunday marked the end of the 25th annual conference for the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) in Chicago. The theme of the conference was “engaged learning in the digital age."
Shirley Kleiner served as president of the ACBSP from 2011-12 and said the conference had a huge turn out. “This year we had close to 50 schools that were accredited and reaffirmed throughout the world."
Attendees commended the accreditation and reaffirmation of over 50 institutions. Kleiner said the event was more of a celebration than a conference. “It’s never plain-Jane because everyone there is such good friends," she said.
The organization has over 1,400 college and university business schools and close to 11,000 members. Many of those members gathered together in Chicago to recognize fellow institutions and faculty members, as well as strategizing how to take business education into the 21st century in a productive and engaging way.
The conference was packed with sessions and long days. Sessions focused on realizing what was being done right, and which ideas needed to be revisited in the years ahead for incoming business students.
The conference took very seriously the theme of moving forward in the digital age. Feel free to check out what happened in the conference by following the hashtag #ACBSPChicago. where attendees went to Twitter to post tidbits from sessions and pictures of Chicago’s landmarks.
