To become a licensed clinical social worker in New Jersey one must obtain the New Jersey required education levels, fieldwork experience or clinical hours and possibly satisfy several other administrative requirements.

Beginning your journey to become a licensed clinical social worker in New Jersey, starts with earning the necessary social work educational requirements. The Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) provides accreditation to social work programs in the United States. We recommend you begin your search there.

For example, Tulane University Online Masters of Social Work is CSWE accredited. It is also highly-ranked by US News & World Reports. The GRE is not required to apply to the MSW program at Tulane. A Bachelor’s degree is required. Contact a representative at Tulane University about their online Master of Social Work program.

New Jersey licensed clinical social workers on average earn a salary of $50,484 per year. Individuals who pursue master’s degrees in social work, tend to earn an average of $61599 per year.

The job growth rate for social workers in New Jersey is expected to grow by 15 percent by 2026. Currently, there are 15,360 open positions in New Jersey for social workers.
