A common Thanksgiving tradition is to go around the dinner table and say what you’re thankful for. Usually, people say that they are thankful for their family and friends, and that’s awesome and stuff, but what are you really thankful for?
I’m thankful for my dog
Thank you for making me smile when I’m down, for cuddling with me when I’m crying over a book, and for making me laugh when I really, really don’t want to.
I’m thankful for coffee
Seriously. You fuel me up to take on the day, afternoon, and night. You’re always there for me(even if you’re just a warm drink).
I’m thankful for reading
You’re an escape from reality(which, let’s face it, isn’t that great all the time). You’re funny, mysterious, and addicting.
I’m thankful for my college classes
Thanks for teaching me about what I want to know, preparing me to follow my dreams, and thank you for this break.
I’m thankful for my laptop
Honestly, my laptop is the first thing I would grab if there was a fire. It stores all my photos, my music, my work, and pretty much everything else I care about.
I’m thankful for a blanket
I’m always cold, so a blanket is essential for me. I love being cozy and warm.
I’m thankful for my self-care time
After a stressful week, throwing on a face mask, sitting in a warm bath, or just staying away from school or work is a gift for me.
I’m thankful for what I have
Sappiness aside, I am really thankful for the friends, family, and food that I am so lucky to have. I may not have everything I want, but I have more than I need.
