October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The importance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month is to spread awareness, donate to research funds, and to remind you to schedule a mammogram. Statistically, about one in eight women in the US will be diagnosed with breast cancer. To detect breast cancer as early as possible, it is important to get a mammogram. If you have already had a mammogram, encourage others to get one done too. Also, make sure to spread the importance of donating to the research fund for breast cancer. It’s important to spread awareness and to make sure that others are aware that they may have breast cancer too. According to statistics, about 250,000 cases are expected to be diagnosed in women in the United States, so let’s do our part to spread awareness and to give back.

If you want to participate in helping to fund breast cancer research, there are numerous companies that are giving back.
First, Live Lokai has a pink bracelet dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Proceeds will help fund breast cancer research. We wear pink to honor those who have passed away from breast cancer, those who are going through it now, and those who have survived. Buying this pink bracelet will show awareness and help to fund breast cancer research funds.
Social Native is also helping to fund breast cancer awareness. You do not need to have money to donate; you can make a post on Instagram mentioning the importance of early detection. Spread awareness with the hashtag “thinkpink," and tag Social Native to the post. Social Native will donate $5 for every post, until they reach $5000. That’s $5000 going towards breast cancer research!
Another company that is donating to breast cancer awareness research is Tory Burch. If you purchase certain items from their store, Tory Burch will donate 20% of those proceeds to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. While you’re purchasing a cute new tote bag, you’re also helping to fund the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
JC Penney is also participating in Breast Cancer Awareness Month. If you buy select items from JC Penney, they will donate some proceeds to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. They offer shirts that say “Ready for Battle," and “I fight for Cancer." Buying these items will spread awareness, and it will be funding research foundations as well.
Finally, another company that is donating to the fund is Fabletics. Fabletics is an athleisure brand. This brand is offering three great looks that will benefit Fashion Targets Breast Cancer. Proceeds from these three looks will go towards the funding of Fashion Targets Breast Cancer. While you’re looking good and working out, you’re helping out a patient in need at the same time.
These are only five companies, out of several, that are participating in Breast Cancer Awareness Month. If you have the money, please donate to these companies. If you’re unable to donate, spreading this around will help too. Tweet about the companies that are donating. Post on Instagram that it’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Wear pink to show your support. Every little thing matters.
