It seems like we are always on the go. Our weeks are filled with exams, events, and extracurricular activities. When your week seems to be too much, it’s important to take a step back and give your brain a break. Here are a few quick tips to help you out!
Hang Out With Friends
Call up a friend, even if it’s for a quick twenty minute coffee break. Ask them how their week is going or what their weekend plans are, in order to get your mind off of things. It’s especially helpful if you meet up with a friend who you know will always make you laugh. The endorphins in your brain will thank you!
Workout
Although it’s hard to make it to the gym during your busy week, be sure to make exercise a priority. The gym is a great way to sweat out the stress or even blow off a little steam. Sometimes, we actually don’t have enough time in our day to make it to the gym, so you can take a walk outside during your lunch break to get away from all the stress, or take a walk around your neighborhood at the end of the day. Whether it’s long and sweaty or just a leisurely walk in the fresh air, your body and mind will feel refreshed.
Visualization
Visualization can be done from your home, your office chair, or even your desk in the library. This can take as much or as little time as you want, which makes it very helpful. Visualize your happy place, whether it is the beach, the mountains, or your home. Close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, and go to your happy place. This gives you a nice break in the middle of the day without even having to go anywhere.
It’s easy to get caught up in everything that is going on, and you can easily forget to do anything about it. All of these tips can be done in less than hour, and some even in a few minutes. Your body and mind will feel refreshed and ready to take on the rest of your work.
