Last week, a wildfire fire broke out in Southern California, and many families had to relocate their homes because they could not deal with the fire or it was starting to affect their neighborhoods. Some families even lost their homes and still have nowhere to go, which is why it’s up to us to help.
For those of you who do not live in Southern California and aren’t able to physically be there to help, You Caring is accepting donations. Their website is filled with fundraisers in order to help different families, and you can pick and choose the fundraisers that you would like to donate to. Always remember that every little bit is important, and by donating, you are making a difference in the lives of the affected families. These fundraisers are all real and legitimate campaigns, so you don’t have to worry about it being a scam.
For those of you who do live in Southern California, the Salvation Army is accepting donations. They are looking for food and water, but they are also accepting toys and clothing for kids and their families as well. If you live around the affected area, please take one or two hours out of your day and donate some of your time to these families. They need everything they can get. If you have clothes that you have stopped wearing, please donate it to the Salvation Army because there will always be a family that may need it.
Another way to help is by donating to the American Red Cross. You can donate by visiting their website, redcross.org, calling 1-800 RED CROSS, or texting REDCROSS TO 90999 to make a $10 donation. If you would like to volunteer and you are in the area, this will be extremely helpful. All you have to do is visit redcross.org/volunteer or call 1-800 RED CROSS to hear all of your donation options.
Finally, let’s not forget about the animals. They are in danger too, and they are losing their homes as well. The Los Angeles County Animal Care Foundation is accepting donations. If you love animals, please consider donating because you will be helping all of the animals that lost their homes or were injured because of the fire.
If you are unable to donate or volunteer, then please share these donation ideas with other people so that everyone knows how they can donate or volunteer. Spreading the word helps a lot because you’re letting others know about how they can help. Tweet this, Facebook it, or share it however you want; please do it because these families need our help.
