November 18th is International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day. This day is dedicated to those who have lost loved ones to suicide, giving them a time to all come together, heal with each other, and support one another. This day typically falls on the Saturday before American Thanksgiving, so this year it will be on November 18th. This day was created by the United States Congress, with the goal of bringing together the friends and family of those who have died by suicide.

For those of you who have lost someone through suicide, this is a great way to come together to heal and show your support. This is a great way to remember all of the individuals who lost their lives through suicide. This is a time to be with those who you love so that you can get through the pain together.

One of the best ways to show support and love is through the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. They are the nation’s largest suicide prevention organization. This organization hosts events throughout all six continents, and they help to bring people together and honor their loved ones. They provide a safe place for people to share personal stories and get advice from other survivors and even professionals. This organization helps people cope with losing a loved one while giving them the support they need.

If you are unable to attend one of these events, or if there isn’t an event near you, you can attend the online Survivor Day event to show your support. The online event is on November 18th at 4:30PM ET. This is a 90-minute program that will include the documentary, “The Journey: A Story of Healing and Hope," as well as “The Journey Revisited."

If you are unable to attend the online event, please take a few minutes out of your day to send a prayer to all the people who were lost to suicide. You can also choose to take a moment of silence as well. Showing your respect and acknowledging the day is a great way to support those who are coping with the loss of a loved one through suicide. Another way to show support is by spreading awareness about these events, and more importantly, the day as a whole. Show your respect by informing others about this important day. You can get together with a group of friends and send prayers to the survivors or loved ones that you have personally lost through suicide. The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is 1-800-273-TALK (8255). Share this number around during this day to prevent suicide.
