Living in a small space has its upsides, but also it can come with challenges. Small spaces are easier to maintain, but offers less room to spread out. Having less space to spread out, means every inch of space has to be maximized. There are plenty of easy ways for making the most of a space.

Use a shower caddy.

In small spaces, such as college dorm rooms, shower caddies are essential. Showers in college dorms are usually very tiny, often featuring no shelves or any kind of storage area for toiletries. By having a shower caddy all the toiletries are organized in one space.

Get bed risers to maximize space under the bed.

Bed risers are a lifesaver, especially in college dorms. Bed risers allow beds to be raised a couple of inches so more stuff can fit under a bed. By raising the bed up a few inches more storage bins of the ever-growing t-shirt collection can be stored under there. Bed risers are a very cheap and effective way to increase space and make the most of a small room.

Get an over the toilet shelf system.

Putting shelves over the toilet increases the space in the bathroom. Over the toilet shelves are perfect for storing towels, wash clothes, medicine and more. By putting small baskets or bins to hold small objects like makeup, tweezers, band-aids, or medicine can increase self-space on the over the toilet shelves.

Use a cookie sheet to make a magnetic board for hanging small items.

Believe it or not, cookie sheets can serve as great magnetic boards to hold makeup. Spray paint a cookie sheet a pretty color and buy magnetic tape. Put small pieces of magnetic tape on the back of the make-up will allow for make-up to be hung up rather than sitting all over a bathroom drawer. Then use a ribbon to hang up the newly created make-up board on the bathroom wall.

Small spaces can seem like a burden, but with these tips small spaces can be maximized and use to their full potential.
