For those of you who did not know, National Get Up Day is February 1. This day is a reminder to pick ourselves up and to never give up no matter how hard it may seem. It’s a reminder to keep going.
It’s important to never give up because each obstacle you face is a lesson learned. Each challenge will help you to become mentally stronger, braver and more courageous. It’s always crucial to persevere because you’ll never know the outcome until you try. What if something amazing happened because you didn’t give up? What if you accomplished what you needed to because you kept going? Even if you didn’t get the outcome you wish you had, it’s always important to keep going because it shows that you tried. Trying is better than giving up.
It’s natural to feel like giving up. It’s natural to feel like something is impossible. It’s natural to feel like nothing good will come out of it. It’s important to know that we all feel like this – but that shouldn’t stop you from getting up. Everybody stumbles and falls, but it’s important to pick yourself back up.
When you get up and continue to strive for something, you become a role model for those who were ready to give up because they thought it was the best option. Get up and continue to strive for what you want, because you’re going to influence someone else to do the same. You can’t win the race if you don’t try. That obstacle you thought about giving up on? Continue to try because you never know what will happen until you do.
Let’s all use National Get Up Day to go back to the obstacle that we gave up on and continue to do it.
Did you quit a sport because you didn’t think you were good enough? Did you quit writing because you compared yourself to someone else? Did you stop blogging because you were scared of getting judged? Use National Get Up Day to go back to the hobbies that you gave up on and give them one last chance.
