NEW YORK, March 2, 2015 – New York University (NYU) is teaming up with Noodle Partners to launch One With NYU, a new tutoring service for students in grades K-12 and lifelong learners at all levels.

One With NYU’s innovative model matches experienced NYU students, alumni, faculty, and staff members with parents and students looking for expert tutors. The NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development is developing an ongoing tutor training program for One with NYU; tutors in the program will have successfully completed the first course. They will specialize in teaching a growing number of subjects.

“This program will be a tremendous resource for children of alumni families, or anyone else seeking to improve their knowledge," said Richard Matasar, Vice President for University Enterprise Initiatives at NYU. “Families will gain access to a pool of smart, motivated and passionate tutors. Further, the program will strengthen NYU’s commitment to making college more accessible, with proceeds from One With NYU supporting student scholarships through NYU’s $1 billion Momentum Campaign."

One With NYU also boasts a state-of-the-art technology platform that provides a complete tutoring experience both online and in person. A digital marketplace matches learner needs to tutor skills and facilitates scheduling, management, and performance tracking. Integrated services such as virtual whiteboarding, document sharing, and video conferencing enable tutors and learners to interact dynamically online. The platform facilitates flipped model tutoring, which Katzman believes “will prove more compelling, effective, and efficient than existing tutoring models."
