Supplements are like vitamins–you either take them or you don’t. And if you take them, people know. Maybe you’ll become one of those people too. There are many supplements that have various health benefits that you could profit from. Here are some of the best supplements and what they can be used for.

Oregano Oil

This pungent oil is great for everything. Are you sick?Do you have an internal irritation or inflammation issue? If you answered yes to any of those, you should probably take oregano oil. This supplement is a natural antibiotic, antioxidant, pain reliever, cancer fighter, cholesterol lower, anti-inflammatory, miracle-of-a-pill. There are many more benefits to oregano oil, but they’re way too many to list here. Oregano is commonly taken once a day. It is also suggested before and after air travel to prevent sickness.

Probiotic

Probiotics are found in foods such as yogurt, kimchi, keefur, and other fermented foods and drinks. The process of fermentation brings a good bacteria out that can help combat bad bacteria in your gut. It helps with the digestive system, can reduce allergies and eczema, helps the heart, improves mental health, and more. You can also drink probiotic supplements and get the same effects.

Magnesium

Magnesium is a great supplement to take for a variety of things. I know, I know, that tune was applied to other supplements. It may be getting old, but the benefits of magnesium are not. The supplement is great for migraines, headaches, bone health, diabetes, and anxiety, to name a few. Rubbing the oil on your abdomen is known to help with occasional constipation and stomach irritation.

Vitamin D

Vitamin D can be hard to come by. This is because the greatest source of vitamin D is found in the sun’s rays. It can also be found in fatty foods such as fish, beef liver, egg yolk, and cheese. For those who don’t eat those foods regularly enough or don’t eat them at all, they come to a crossroads. Taking a vitamin D supplement can help regulate calcium, help the immune system, regulate insulin levels, support the lungs, and combat cancer. It is important to get vitamin D and so, the effects of low vitamin D are severe, including low blood levels, increased cardiovascular disease, impaired mental health in adults, and asthma in children. Taking too much, however, can result in bad effects, such as bone fractures from falls and hypercalcemia. Consult your doctor if you are in need of more vitamin D and how much you should take.

Thiamine

This supplement, also known as B1, helps generate a healthy metabolism, gives energy, helps the heart, improves muscle health, prevents diseases, helps with electrolytes, and aids nerve cells. This supplement is often used to help people who have stomach and digestive issues. It’s often taboo, but let’s be adults. Some people have a harder time using the bathroom, but thiamine can help with that. There is a debate as to whether there are risks to taking too much thiamine. Some medical professionals suggest it is harmless while others say it can pose a problem. As always, consult your doctor.

It’s interesting to see how many of the world’s health problems can be fixed or helped by way of natural supplements over medical drugs which can sometimes have lasting side effects. While supplements should also be taken with wisdom, they are a safer, more effective way to better health. They can help prevent diseases as well as get you into a healthier, stronger you.
