According to the medal tally, we stand fifth on the table behind Norway at 11 medals, the Netherlands at 10, Canada at 10 and Germany at 9.

Here is a live medal tally by the Washington Post.

We’ve already missed a few memorable moments of the games: North and South Korea marching together at the opening ceremony, Pita Taufatofua bearing the Tongan flag shirtless, two 17-year olds winning gold for the US (Red Gerard, men’s slopestyle and Chloe Kim, ladies’ halfpipe) and Mirai Nagasu becoming the first U.S. woman -- and the third in world history -- to land a vaunted triple axel in figure skating. But there’s so much more to come!

Women’s Slalom Finals

The skiing event finals have been rescheduled for Friday night due to strong winds, and American Mikaela Shiffrin is hoping to win gold! She’s the Overall World Cup Champion, the world champion and defending Olympic champion of the sport.

Men’s Figure Skating Finals

American Nathan Chen - the only skater in the world able to master five different kinds of quadruple jumps - will be facing off against the Japanese defending gold champion, Yuzuru Hanyu. Hanyu suffered an ankle injury in November and will be making his comeback this Olympics.

Men’s Giant Slalom

The U.S. defending champion, Ted Ligety, will be competing against Austrian Marcel Hirscher, who has won the World Cup overall title in the sport for six years consecutively.

Bobsleigh

Nigeria’s bobsled team was crowdfunded through a GoFundMe started in 2016. They initially trained on a wooden sled and have paused their careers to pursue this dream!

Lindsey Vonn

She’s one of the most celebrated female skiing stars and said to be the greatest skier in U.S. history, but this is probably her final Olympics which means it is also the last time you can watch her compete in the Games.

She’ll be participating in the Women’s Giant Slalom, Women’s Super G, Women’s Downhill and Women’s Combined (detailed schedule here ).

A list of top American athletes to look out for can be found here !

Pita Taufatofua

His shirtless march in the Opening Ceremony and freezing temperatures might have caught your eye, but Tonga’s only competitor will be cross-country skiing this Olympics! He took up the sport just two years ago in 2016. In the Rio Olympics, he participated in taekwondo.

Four-Man Bobsled

The U.S. team lost its leader and pilot, Steven Holcomb, last May and is now hoping to win a medal this Olympics in his honor.

A more comprehensive list of events to watch in the Olympics can be found here .
