Throughout the course of your college career, you're probably going to be taking a course on your degree checklist that you see as being useless, or irrelevant to your major. While it may seem tedious and boring to anyone who's not a photographer or film major, taking a Photoshop course comes with plenty of perks that can open plenty of doors in the future when it comes to mastering a new skill, or finding a job.

To start, photoshop courses teach a whole array of tips and tricks that can come in handy when touching up pictures that may seem like they need improving. Just because you take a picture, doesn't mean that you're finished and ready to show it off . Whether that's cleaning up a face full of blemishes, eliminating a sunspot that's in the way of your subject, wanting to turn up the vibrancy in a photo's background,

or layering pictures on top of each other and turning down the visibility to come up with a specific design, you don't have to be a full time photographer to want to take perfect pictures. It also comes in handy if you , or someone you know happens to be writing a book and wants to cut the cost of hiring someone to design a front and back cover. With the magic of photoshop, you can create a cover all on your own according to your designs and specifications. Speaking of hiring someone, if you're a creative soul who wants to stretch their wings and showcase their skillset in a creative job space; beit building websites, graphic design, advertising, or even 2D/ 3D animation, having a background in photoshop is one resume builder that is sure to come in handy as the deal breaker in getting a job, or even a dream career.

Also, it shows that you're multi faceted and have dexterity in what abilities you have as well what you can do with them; that you haven't pigeon holed yourself to one skill level and are wiling to advance yourself and learn new things. On the other hand, it's a great jumping of point to explore other editing software like Lightroom and After Effects, to name a few, and broaden your horizons of new knowledge. In a like manner, its a great tool to use if you have celebrations coming up and

decide you want to come up with designs to put on them and print out. Then you don't have to pay through the roof prices buying cards from the store. Then, there's the fact that it's fairly easy to use and comes with a multitude of features that are sure to have you hooked and wanting to learn more after just one use. It can even be considered a fun hobby to dabble in if you have some downtime to kill given the current circumstances.

In conclusion, photoshop may seem like a mundane and even boring thing to take up as a college course, but really, it's just another tool to help go towards building your resume, your skillset, and learning a new form of dexterity that will propel you into a world of possibilities that you never thought possible.
