Some career fields are currently under a high level of stress, so much so that some aren't able to properly operate due to the nature of exactly how they operate. Although, many careers in the English field may not be as effected.

Luckily, many jobs in the field of English can be done remotely. Given this, jobs such as editing and technical writing are most likely still mildly stable. However, on the other hand, jobs such as teaching and office jobs may falter slightly. As the American nation starts to re-stabilize, though, many teachers are able to continue their jobs through remote teaching. So, overall many jobs in the English field are able to continue to some extent.

According to Visual Capitalist, many jobs in the English field are at a fairly low risk during this whole pandemic. Employees working as web developers, bookkeepers, and jobs involving marketing managers and specialists are at a significantly lower risk than any job in the health care field, or even receptionists for that matter. Even if English jobs remain remote or at-home, they are minimally affected by this pandemic.

Some jobs may be able to even continue their work in-person. These jobs that are at a significantly lower risk, such as office jobs, can seemingly function as normal. My brother, although he doesn't work in an English field, he does work in an office. He told me that his company plans to resume work as normal, although employees will be stationed at every other desk station. Since many office jobs utilize individual desks or cubicles, employees can easily distance themselves from each other and keep their space cleaned and disinfected. However, jobs where spaces are shared, like receptionists and retail workers, aren't so lucky.

Amidst all this chaos, those in the English field can be reassured that their jobs are still fairly viable, even among the Corona Virus. Many English jobs can be done remotely, which can be an easier switch for some than others, but many jobs in this field may be able to resume as normally as possible

With many people out of work, and some even concerned whether or not they will be able to continue in their fields, English jobs have been graced with the ability to adapt to situations. So, rest assured English employees, our jobs are luckily in better shape than others'.
