Women are everywhere. From politics, art, history, the list goes on. Yes, we are a minority in multiple industries and we live in a patriarchal society, but that doesn’t necessarily impact our influence and power. Here are a few women who rule the world:

Angela Merkel: the Chancellor of Germany has been the reigning most powerful woman in the world title holder for quite a few years now. Yes, there was that 2010 moment when Michelle Obama topped her, but tallying all the years there’s no comparison. The first female Chancellor of Germany, controlling the fifth largest economy in the world, and being a key player in various treaties affecting the world, has saved Merkel a definite spot on this list.
Melinda Gates: Melinda Gates is the co-founder of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. As of 2014 she and her husband had donated more than $28 billion to the foundation for the use of funding education on all parts of the earth. In recent years Melinda realises the lack of women in technology and is developping a module to both promote and distribute education of technology to women.
Hillary Clinton: The almost president still holds power of being able to have influence on her supporters, seeing as the popular vote would have been hers. As her political career continues, Clinton continues to use her influence and her power through speech in helping change legislature for the better.
Anna Wintour: The woman single handedly is said to run the fashion industry, being the editor-in-chief of Vogue since 1988, and having opinions that automatically set trends. For models, designers, creators, and fashion visionaries, this is their leader.
Indra Nooyi: The Indian American business executive is the CEO of PepsiCo, the second largest food and beverage company in the world. Other than running the company, Nooyi believes that more woman should be having positions like hers, and is looking to forge a career in politics.
Ivanka Trump: Now more than ever Ivanka has the eyes of the world watching her, not just what she wears after that shoe copyright scandal, but what she says too. She has the power of publicity and outreach because of the attention the media gives to her, ensuring that her messages are reached globally.
Queen Rania: the Queen consort of Jordan, she has become known for her advocacy in the social sectors, in education, empowerment, health and more. She is politically aware of the world and makes it clear what she thinks about changing education, both globally and domestically.
