In this day and age, there are so many issues that need people who are willing and capable of fixing it. Many of us desire to make some sort of change, but we simply do not know where to begin, or we believe that we are too insignificant to create that change.
The question then becomes, what kind of change are you looking for? Is it a change in the community, or a change in the way the environment is taken care of? The truth is, we are never too small or incapable of making a change to anything.
First thing’s first: do your research. Know who you need to reach out to and why you are reaching out to them. It is so important to be as prepared as possible. If you want to make a difference in any way, it is necessary to put in the work and know your information.
Some people may get discouraged and ask, “I am just one person, so how can I make a change? How can I be the difference?" I know that I have personally been in a position where I felt that I could not do anything to help make a change.
We must all have hope that things will change for the better. Create an outlook that is so bright that nothing can stop it from shining. Beginning any project or endeavor with a good mindset will set you up for success.
As far as actually making the change, you have to start small in order to get anywhere. Nobody can be expected to run a marathon the first time they lace up their running shoes. My recommendation is to start where you can, and then build from there. You should help yourself grow and learn as much as possible, using your mind as a tool. The more you better yourself, the further you will go with your endeavors.
Rely on your research, and go out and make connections. Speak to people in the community and find out as much information as possible about everything that will help you with the change you are trying to make. Creating relationships with the community around you will help you to achieve your goals.
We are capable of a lot more than we think, and many of us forget this. If we were to stick to our dreams and believe in them, instead of simply giving up, we would accomplish far more than what we settle for.
