Manage Your Money Girl
We’ve all been here but who is better to stay on your case about your financial obligations than mom and dad?
They’re our Gymspiration
You’re getting Five Guys, Dad’s working on his thighs. Getting to the gym is tough, but worth it. What freshman 15?
Always reminding us that our best is enough
Between projects, tests and term papers you’re going to find yourself tackling a task that isn’t particularly your strong suit. Your parents understand there will be a class or two you just need to pass.
They make sure you get fed
If you’re lucky enough to go to school in your hometown, join the parents for dinner. There’s nothing like a home-cooked meal.
Play by play updates so that you still get all the drama
With a recently empty nest, mom’s got tea and no one to spill to. Don’t be surprised if you’re randomly updated on the grocery store gossip.
They want to be sure you know who you’re talking to
It’s been like 15 years since they invented caller ID, and not only do I know it’s you calling, you also have a picture and ringtone that pops up. Don’t blame our parents - they didn’t grow up with these things.
If you don’t send your itinerary…
Moms can be the worst at this. She wants to know where you are and what you’re doing at all times. Tip: turn on your find my friends, but beware because it may become mom’s new favorite app!
Your automated bill reminder
I’m the most guilty about testing that five days grace period. On the sixth day, I can almost guarantee a not-so-friendly reminder will be waiting in my inbox.
Directions without punctuation
Hey, at least they’re doing your taxes! Sometimes texts from our parents mean deciphering the grammatical errors.
Your biggest supporters
At the end of the day, your parents are simply proud of you. They kind of have to be. So take some time out of your busy schedule and just text mom and dad back.
