Licensed clinical social workers maintain a critical role in the enhancement of life in North Carolina as they support communities and individuals to discover answers to life’s challenges. Becoming a licensed clinical social worker in North Carolina requires certain education levels, hours of clinical service, and possibly other requirements.
When considering a career as a social worker, and evaluating potential educational programs, you should enroll at a CSWE accredited program. Many states require candidates have degrees from CSWE accredited programs.
For example, Tulane University Online Masters of Social Work is CSWE accredited. It is also highly-ranked by US News & World Reports. The average North Carolina social worker salary is $57,000. This number is 5% lower than the national average for similar social worker jobs. For those individuals who’ve gone on to obtain a master’s degree in social work, the average salary is $64,022. The job growth rate for social workers in North Carolina is expected to grow by 15%.
As of February 2018, there are an estimated 1,352 open positions in North Carolina for social workers. In fact, the following health centers are currently recruiting to hire social workers, with a preference for those with a master’s degree, or concurrently enrolled in a master’s program.
